Is it really important to wear protective eyewear?
Yes! You have beautiful eyes... protect them so they stay that way for a lifetime!

FDA approved eye protection blocks out virtually 100 percent of all ultraviolet light that would otherwise come in contact with the eye, and are designed to provide a complete light-tight seal around the eyes.

Damage from UV overexposure to the eyes takes years to start showing and leads to loss of color perception or bad night vision, or even macular degeneration (blindness in all but peripheral vision).

Why isn't closing my eyes good enough?
Eyelids are not effective for blocking out UV light.

How do I prevent "racoon eyes?"
By occasionally sliding your protective eyewear to a new position during your tanning session, your can minimize the appearance of racoon eyes. If you use the type of eyewear that has a string, occasionally adjusting the position of the string will help avoid a string mark.

When adjusting the position of your eyewear YOU SHOULD NEVER LIFT THE EYEWEAR OFF YOUR EYES, instead gently slide the eyewear.

What should I know about tanning with tatoos?
Persons with fresh tattoos (less than 3 weeks old) should completely cover the tattoo and avoid UV exposure to the tatooed area. The chemicals injected into the skin make the local area very sensitive to UV light during the healing process.

Completely healed tatoos (more than 3 weeks old) should be moderately protected by applying tattoo sunscreen or SPF lip balm to preserve the tattoo's brilliancy and prevent fading.
